AWARDED GUITARIST AND COMPOSER KOMIE TO RELEASE “WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES (STILL I CAN SEE YOU)” ON JULY 26, 2019
The brand new single is a compelling and disturbing pop rock song with Idrise’s passionate and powerful voice combined with Komie’s innovative guitar plots. The song is the first of Komie’s material to contain lyrics written by Ira Besserman and Komie.
After the love of his life has left him, the romantic rejected song, in an impetus of epic masochism, visits Paris and retraces the steps he had once taken with his seductive ex-lover. Obsessed, he sees it everywhere you look … but in the blink of an eye it’s gone. Her pain is only intensified by the City of Love and the splendid panoramas seen once again, but this time without her. Back home and emotionally emptied, he finds what he least expected …

Komie’s latest single, Aurora Dawning (Feat. Idrise), is a broad, melodic and inspiring pop song with the emerging talented singer, Idrise. The single, which will be released on June 7, 2019, follows Komie’s well-received instrumental album, Afterglow. Komie is a two-time Emmy-awarded guitarist, composer and producer who has created music for successful TV shows such as Ozzy Osbourne’s World Detour and The Amazing Race.
Aurora Dawning draws inspiration from Afterglow, but the vocal component of the single distinguishes it from the latter. The song pays homage to the Northern Lights, the magical celestial events that occur notoriously close to the regions of the Arctic and Antarctic. Komie, with a typically thoughtful and metaphysically inspired tone, poetically conveys the interaction between lovers of crossed stars in an emotionally dramatic stellar guitar scenario.
